| Q. Who is the organiser of this event? A. The Awards are organised and produced by Inhouse Creative, the punblishers of Dubai's premier and the region's leading architecture an design magazine, Architecture Plus. |

| Q. Who created the concept for these aAwards? A. The Awards are the brainchild of Rashid Taqui, the CEO and Publisher of the magazine, Architecture+, ‘Architecture of a New World’. This is Dubai’s premier and the region’s leading architecture and design magazine that aims to provide a much needed voice for our region’s architects, developers, designers and planners and engages them in constructive dialogue both at home and abroad. The Architecture+ Awards are seen as an extension to the magazine core mission and are intended to be one of the most prestigious in the profession. |

Q. When did the first cycle of the Architecture Plus Awards take place? The Awards Night finally took place on December 20th 2004 in Dubai and was attended by over 300 international architects from as far as Pakistand and Canada. | Q. In the phrase, “Design for a New World”, what does ‘New World’ mean? A. In the very first issue of Architecture Plus magazine, we referred to our region’s diversity of cultures, communities, lifestyles, economies, and aspirations as a ‘unique tapestry of interwoven cultures’. A region that can no longer be classified as the ‘Third World’, ‘Developing World’ or the ‘Emerging world’. We called it a ‘New World’ as the diversity is so great that it is neither the ‘Third world’ nor a ‘Developed World’ as whole: in some areas, adobe combined with mud is the most advanced building material available while in other parts, the aspirations are so great that our region has become the home of some of the most outstanding architectural feats known to humankind. A metamorphosis of the ‘Emerging World’ into a ‘New World’ – Your World. |

| Q. Is this Award something worth going after? A. After the Aga Khan Awards for architecture instituted by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture, the Architecture Plus Awards are the ONLY independent award for Architects, landscape architects urban designers and planners, and students that recognise architectural efforts in our region from a complete unbiased architectural perspective. The Awards are NOT related to any commercial venture that would compromise the integrity of the Awards. The Awards’ credibility and integrity are re-enforced by the illustrious and world renowned jury. |

| Q. Who is the jury for the Architecture Plus Awards II? Members of the Master Jury are carefully selected for their specialist knowledge, and who together can best evaluate the submissions without bias. Together the Master Jury represents the geographical spans of all four corners of the world and reflect diverse cultural understanding. All are award-winning and well recognised in their professional capacity. Their age groups and professional age is diverse complimented by a mixed gender jury. After all, buildings are successful based on their ability to communicate with their end users. Through our meticulous planning, we hope the Master Jury can represent people from all walks of life. | Q. What about the Student Award (Aspiring Architect)? Will this be reviewed by the same jury who are already professionals in their fields? A. Yes, but only the short-listed students. The entries will first be reviewed by an Academic Jury comprised of the distinguished professors and academics that together cover the entire academic spectrum of our New World region. | Q. What will the students win apart from the Award trophy? A. We are very pleased to announce that the students will win a cash prize of USD10,000! This is the largest student cash prize in this region and one of the largest in the world. |

| Q. How do I register to enter the Awards and how much does it cost? A. To enter please log onto the dedicated web portal, www.arcplusonline.com/awards and complete the registration form online. Entry is free this year, however, all short-listed nominees must confirm their attendance of the awards ceremony scheduled for June 1st 2007 or appoint someone on their behalf if personally unable to attend the event. Inability to comply with the above will result in automatic disqualification. |

| Q. If I sponsor the event, can I submit entries for the awards? A. No, as this would compromise the integrity and credibility of the award. However, if you are a developer, the architect or architectural firm who designed your project may submit entries under the name of the architectural practice only. |

| Q. Will there be an exhibition of the entries? A. We are currently in discussion to establish a travelling exhibition of the entries alongside Industry related international exhibitions.
